Environmental Stewardship award
Taiga Exterior Wood holds a 2012 Certificate of Environmental Stewardship award for our efforts at recycling noting the following:
CONGRATULATIONS! IN 2012, YOUR BUSINESS SAVED OVER 753 BARRELS OF OIL, 267,024 KWH OF ENERGY, AND 1,387 CUBIC YARDS OF LANDFILL SPACE BY RECYCLING 92,492 POUNDS OF PLASTIC.
Taiga Exterior Wood is proud that our process extends the life of forest resources, allowing one tree to do the work of many. We make wood products that are treated to last a long time in harsh environments or resist flames, and have all of the environmental advantages associated with the wood itself.
Wood is a renewable resource grown on managed timberlands. Trees remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, thus reducing greenhouse gases.
- Wood requires less energy to produce than alternative building materials – it is made from sunlight and soil nutrients rather than fossil fuels.
- Wood offers greater insulation value than alternatives.
- Wood is lighter in weight, and can often be installed with lighter equipment which has less environmental impact.

The major component in the primary treatment we use comes from recycled sources.
